Raymond is survived by his wife Susan and his two sons Raymond Carson Benthall IlI, his wife Meredith of Charlotte, and Wilson Bland Benthall, his wife Diana and their son William of Raleigh. He is also survived by his two siblings Betsy Benthall Michaels and her two sons Bob and John of Dallas, TX and his brother David of Chattanooga TN.

Raymond was born on August 6th, 1943 in Rocky Mount, N.C. He was a graduate of Woodland Olney School and Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, N.C.  Raymond was a member of Murfreesboro Baptist Church, and Murfreesboro Historical Association, where he enjoyed serving with many friends.

Raymond was an avid outdoorsman. He grew up with a passion for hunting and fishing, and shared his love for the outdoors with his family and many friends.

Susan, I’m sorry for your loss of Raymond, on a few occasions he spoke with me about the Benthall Clan and their early beginnings in Menola region, he showed me the old homeplace and burying grounds of some of the earliest. I’ll never forget his knowledge of the our county & surnames he was well versed in.

Praying for the entire family after the passing of Raymond. I warmly remember his smile and sense of humor. He welcomed me into his home from the first day I met him. I loved how he always had a joke for my husband Jeff about how he “married up.” He will be greatly missed!

Raymond and I worked together for many years. We both grew up in the Woodland Community. Raymond and I had shared lots of memories of years gone by that we cherished. He was a dear friend and I found his respect and honesty was shown to everyone. Yes like Joann said his pink shirt brought a grin and lots of comments from him. Susan and family you are in our thoughts and prayers.

There’s a private place reserved for the lovers of God, where they sit near him and receive the revelation-secrets of his promises.
– Psalm 25: 14 TPT

O my strength, I sing with joy your praises. O my stronghold, I sing with joy your song! O my Savior, I sing with joy the lyrics of your faithful love for me!
– Psalm 59: 17 TPT

Into your hands I now entrust my spirit. O Lord, the God of faithfulness, you have rescued and redeemed me.

So cheer up! Take courage all you who love him. Wait for him to break through for you, all who trust in him!
– Psalm 31: 5, 24 TPT

Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope!
– Romans 15: 13 TPT
