Rebecca Cary Summerlin

Rebecca Cary Summerlin, age 72 years of Tarboro, passed away on October 12, 2018 at the Scotland Manor of Scotland Neck, NC.

She was born on December 17, 1945 to Sidney and Estelle Cary. Rebecca loved gardening and especially loved her house plants. She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and had some very special friends. She was a good and faithful homemaker. Rebecca loved gospel music and enjoyed attending Gospel Fellowship Church in Tarboro, when her health would allow. She was very strong in her faith often saying she never walked alone as she had her Lord with her at all times.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Estelle Cary; and her father, Sidney Perry Cary.

Rebecca is survived by her daughter, Angela Wood of Tarboro; two sons, Ronnie Jones of Tarboro and Ray Wood of Raleigh; three granddaughters, Jessica Denton of Rocky Mount, Heather Barfield of Rocky Mount and Tiffany Denton-Hagans and her husband William of Leggett; grandson, John Daughtridge and his wife Sierria of Battleboro; three great-grandsons, Jayvion Denton and Zayden Hagans both of Leggett and Mikey Light of Rocky Mount; and five great-granddaughters, Lyniyah Hagans of Leggett, Emylee Denton of Bunn, Darlene Bullock of Rocky Mount, Claudia Daughtridge and Elizabeth Daughtridge both of Battleboro.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
