WOODLAND, NC – Rev. Rachel Sadler Holloman, age 81, of Appletree Street, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at her home.
Rev. Holloman was born on September 30, 1938 to L.G. Sadler and Ira Lee Linton Sadler in Hyde County, NC. Rachel was a true woman of God, being an ordained Minister. She cherished her family, especially her son, who was the apple of her eye. She enjoyed gardening, playing her bass guitar, and singing. Rachel was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Robert Holloman, and a brother, Radford Sadler.
Rachel is survived by her son, Steve Ray Holloman of the home; two sisters, Mary Lou Belangia and husband James, and Linda Smith and husband Bobby, both of Ahoskie; brother, Buddy Sadler and wife Harriet of Chesapeake, VA; brother-in-law, Willie Holloman Jr. and wife Barbara of Murfreesboro; her feline, Boots, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to the circumstances with COVID-19 restrictions from the CDC and NC Board of Funeral Service, family and friends are welcome to come pay their respects and sign the guest book for Rev. Holloman on Friday, May 15, 2020, from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC.
A graveside celebration of life funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2020, at 2:00 pm at the Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Raleigh Johnson officiating.
