GREENVILLE, NC – Richard Lane Rawls, age 65, formerly of Aulander, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at the Vidant Inpatient Hospice of Greenville, NC.

Ricky was born on September 1, 1956 to William Nello Rawls and Myrtle Lane Rawls in Ahoskie, NC. He worked as a butcher for many years before retirement. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He cherished his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved to spend time fishing as long as his health permitted. Ricky was loved by many and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Futrell Rawls.

Ricky is survived by his two sons, Richard Chad Rawls and his wife Angel of Jackson, and Matthew Stephen Rawls of Virginia Beach, VA; two granddaughters, Camryn Rawls, and Kendall Rawls; grandson, Caleb Rawls; sister, Cheryl Rawls of Aulander; and special friend, Ann Turner of Greenville.

There will be a private memorial service held at the Rawls Family Cemetery, Aulander, NC with Justin Rose officiating.
