MURFREESBORO – Richard Lee Billman passed away suddenly on June 23, 2023, at the age of 75 at his home in Murfreesboro, North Carolina. Born on December 13, 1947, in the Village of Knox, Ohio, Richard was a dedicated carpet installer and an admirable US Navy veteran serving on the USS Randolph.
Apart from his work, Richard was fond of spending time with his grandchildren, working on cars, Harley-Davidson motorcycle, fishing, bowling, and preparing his famous potato salad in his green vintage Pyrex bowl for all family get-togethers. He was a man of few words but had a heart full of love for his family and friends.
Richard is survived by his wife Teresa, three daughters – Mary Sue Beach (Bobby Martin) of Woodruff, SC, Kimberley Anne Perryman (Aaron Wright) of Elizabeth City, NC, Crystal Lee Billman (Scott “Spanky” Spangler) of Williamsburg, VA, and two sons – Richard “Ricky” David Billman (Lillian) and Christopher Chase Billman of Murfreesboro, NC. Additionally, he had four grandsons- Zackary Marshall Beach, Brandon William Beach, Kyle Louis Perryman, Jayden Alexander Billman. and two granddaughters – Brittany Nichole Poole and Harper Grace Billman. He also leaves behind his sister, Thelma Billman of Mt. Vernon, OH, and many dear friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Waldo Emerson Billman and mother, Lorena Mears Billman.
A private family gathering to celebrate Richard’s life will be held in his honor. Richard will always be remembered for his hard work, dedication, and loving nature, and he will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
