Bobby was born on May 9, 1959, to Robert and Sharon Basnight Bell in Scotland Neck. He graduated high school from New Birth Christian School in Tarboro, then attended Wayne Community College to study Aviation Maintenance. Bobby married the love of his life, Donna Thrasher on January 27, 1985. They had one son, Christopher Bell. Bobby was a member of Hope Free Will Baptist Church and he served as a mason with Scotland Neck #447 A.F. and A. M. Bobby was best known as a crop-duster. He worked with Bell’s Flying Service from 1981-2003. If you looked up in the sky and saw the yellow and gray Ag Cat N518Y, you knew it was Bobby doing what he loved to do best. Following his crop-dusting days, he worked as an inspector and mechanic for C130 airplanes for the Marines and the Coast Guard. Bobby loved his family, and he will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Christopher Alvin Bell.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Donna of the home; his son, Christopher Robert Bell and his wife, Angelica of Linden; a brother, Timmy Bell of Scotland Neck; and a sister, Terry Bell Daily, her husband Terry and their granddaughter, Kimberly Daily of Goldsboro and his four-legged companion Buddy.
