COLERAIN, NC – Robert Carr Collie, Jr., age 57, of Colerain, passed away on April 21, 2023, at the ECU Health Roanoke Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie.

Mr. Collie was born in Rocky Mount, NC on December 2, 1965, a son of Robert C. Collie, Sr. and Kaye Hatchett Collie. Robert was a graduate of Northeastern High School and worked as an HVAC technician.  Robert was a faithful, active member of Colerain Baptist Church, loving all ministry work and even taking a mission tri-p to Nicaragua.  He loved music, whether it be listening, singing in the youth choir or playing drums.  Robert was a big fellow with a big heart, and always being the comedian, will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert C. Collie, Sr.

Left to cherish Robert’s memory is his, son, Wesley Collie of Kill Devil Hills, NC; his mother, Kaye Hatchett Collie of Greenville, NC; his fiancé, Renee Etheridge of Colerain, NC; three brothers, George (Barbara) Vogt of Elizabeth City, NC, John (Lisa) Collie of Greenville, NC, and Clay (Candace) Collie of Boone, NC; and his stepmother, Rita Collie.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the Colerain Baptist Church, Colerain, NC, with Rev. Gary Saffell officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made directly to Colerain Baptist Church, P.O. Box 126, Colerain, NC, 27924; or you may donate online by clicking here.

The family will receive friends at any time at the home of Rhonda Hemingway, 403 Willow Branch Road, Merry Hill, NC.

I am so sorry for your loss. The Bible assures us that we will see our loved ones again at Acts 24:15 which states “I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” Until that time, please allow Jehovah to wrap his loving and comforting arms around you all and comfort you through this time of bereavement. Please accept my condolences.

So sorry to hear of Rob’s passing. He will truly be missed at church.
