Back in the old old days when I was just a young’n Bobby (eight years older than I) and my brother and I used to sit around a big old oak tree in our front yard and talk about I don’t know what. But one subject that frequently came up was that there was no way Bobby could be older than me because my birthday came before his, the 20th vs 25th. It was a few years before I was able to solve that puzzle but Bobby and my brother sure tried, much to their frustration that I wasn’t getting it. I think I must have been four or five years old. During one of our last visits together Bobby and I had a good laugh over that. I will always remember those days of our youth and our visits. Thanks for the memories, Bobby. Love to all of Bobby’s family, and to those of the Lassiter Cousins left to remember. His memory will live on.

Bobby and I are first cousins; his mother and my daddy were brother and sister. Although I did grow up in DC, our family visited our Aulander relatives during the year. When I was young, I thought Bobby was the coolest guy and wanted to marry him! I moved back South when I was a HS senior, so we became close friends from then on. Whenever my family had a crisis, Bobby and Frances showed up to support us. Our children played with and enjoyed each other. Bobby always kept us laughing with his sense of humor. I am so grateful we saw one another at our family reunions. I will always cherish the memories over the years of a wonderful, loving cousin.
Sending love and blessings to Charlotte, Brent, and their families,
Deedee.
