AHOSKIE, NC – Robert Llyon Bristow, age 72, passed away on April 23, 2018, at the Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital of Ahoskie, NC.
Mr. Bristow was born in Bertie County on January 13, 1946, a son of the late Lewis and Lethia Cooke Bristow. Robert was a dedicated worker and provider for his family with his primary job skills being a mechanic and machinist. He worked for several companies during his career including CF Industries (Farmer’s Chemical), NC Department of Transportation, Easco Aluminum, Harrellsville Metal Works and Ace Hardware of Ahoskie. He was also active in his community, having served with Powellsville Volunteer Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter for over 30 years. He was a member of Sandy Run Baptist Church and very proud to be an army veteran of the Vietnam Era.
Bobby loved spending time with his family, which included camping and fishing trips, and hunting with his sons and wife.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 50 years, Linda Horton Bristow; two sons, Robert Lewis Bristow and wife, Christy of Canton, NC, and Johnny Ray Bristow of Ahoskie, NC; a grandson, Ethan Cole Bristow; and three step grandsons, D.J., Cameron, and Rusty.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC, and other times at the home.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Ahoskie Chapel, with Rev. Greg Hurdle officiating. Burial will follow in Roxobel-Kelford Cemetery, Roxobel, NC.

Linda, we are so sorry to here of Bobby’s passing, he was a great friend and loved to tell jokes. We enjoyed every day with him when he worked here. He will be truly missed.
