COFIELD – Robert Pollard Bazemore, age 79, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital.
Bobby was born in Hertford County on September 15, 1933, a son of the late James Elbert Bazemore and Ruby Daughtry Bazemore. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Wiccacon Masonic Lodge #241 and the Harrellsville & Ahoskie Chapters of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a veteran and MP of the Army and National Guard.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Nancy Rountree Bazemore; his son, Robbie Bazemore and wife Jody of Ahoskie, NC; sisters, Helen Bazemore of Cofield, NC and Rudy B. Carter of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren, Grant and Lily Bazemore; and several nieces and nephews. Bobby was predeceased by brothers, James E. Bazemore, Jr., Thomas Lee Bazemore; sisters, Mary Jones Rountree, Peggy Bazemore, Jean Barden and Patricia Ann Bazemore.
A celebration of life service will be conducted on Friday, October 19 at 11:00 AM at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service in Ahoskie. Burial will follow in the Bazemore Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, C/O Helen Bazemore, 234 Bazemore Road, Cofield, NC, 27922.
