MURFREESBORO, NC – Robert Thomas Wiley, age 91, of Main Street, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Wiley was born on July 9, 1930 to Henry and Margaret Sheehy Wiley in Jersey City, NJ. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force as an MP during the Korean War. Robert enjoyed woodworking, carving, and making things for his beloved family out of wood. He cherished his family; they were all very special to him. He spent many years involved in little league with his sons. He served as past President of his local union. Along with spending time with his family, he loved to read, and do crossword puzzles. Robert was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Wiley, his mother, Margaret Wiley, his first wife, Patricia Tracy Wiley, his second wife, Doris Bessmer Wiley; a granddaughter, Leigh Carpenter, a sister, Marie Lynch, and a brother, John Wiley.

Robert is survived by two daughters, Teresa Flanagan and husband Tim of Murfreesboro, and Mary Rubel and husband Clyde of Derby, KS; four sons, Robert P. Wiley and wife Cynthia of Satellite Beach, FL, Henry Wiley and wife Maryellen of Cliffwood Beach, NJ, Michael Wiley and wife Mary of Melburne, FL, Sean Wiley and wife Terri of Lacey, WA., 16 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.

The family will honor Mr. Wiley’s wishes and will not have a service at this time.

To my dear friend, Teresa, my heart goes to you. Bless his soul, he is at rest, the ole Flanagan house is gonna be too quiet now..rest easy Pops..toast a beer for ya!
