CONWAY, NC – Roy Rogers “Trigger” Byrum, Jr., age 58, of NC Hwy 35, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at the Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.
Roger was born on October 17, 1963 to Roy Rogers Byrum, Sr. and Bobbie Jones Byrum in Ahoskie, NC. Roger who was affectionately called PAPA and RARA loved his family deeply, especially his grandchildren. He was always available to help others and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and hanging out with the club members. Roger loved food, seemed to enjoy eating all the time. He liked to play golf, go bowling, play games and surf the internet on the computer, watching television, drinking diet Mt. Dew, napping, and playing with his dogs.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, April Lynn Byrum, and a brother, Donald Wayne Byrum.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Kay, a son, James Roy Byrum and fiancé, Brooke Turner of Conway; two daughters, Ashley Michelle Rizo and husband Jr. of Ahoskie, and Kassie Ann Byrum of Conway; a grandson, Corbin Dale Byrum; a granddaughter, Natalie Ariana Rizo; two sisters, Laurie Ann Vaughan of Merry Hill, and Lisa Byrum Bland and husband Brian of Woodland; a brother, Squeaky Byrum and wife Wendy of Ahoskie; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 1:00 pm at the Potecasi Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Deacon and Rev. Ricky Browder, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with cost incurred since Roger’s motorcycle accident and funeral cost by clicking here.
