Ronnie Godwin Smith, age 68, of Woodland, passed away on September 8, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Smith was born on July 25, 1946 to the late Waverly Godwin Smith and Maggie Collier Smith Clay in Conway, NC. Ronnie worked as a salesman for Flowers Bakery and later retired from Transit Auto Parts. He enjoyed Nascar racing, watching old Westerns, and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Ronnie is survived by his son, Scott and his wife Lesley Smith of Woodland, NC; two brothers, Randy and his wife Wanda Smith of Conway, NC, and George and his wife Daisy Smith of Lake Gaston, NC, a grandson, Michael “Scoot” Smith of Woodland, NC, and a granddaughter, Lizzie Smith of Woodland, NC, several nephews and a very caring friend, Barbara Outland.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 09, 2014 from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Rich Square Chapel, Rich Square, NC.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at 3:00 pm at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Rich Square Chapel, Rich Square, NC, with the Rev. Dave Rimel officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery.
