CONWAY, NC – Rose Futrell Hoggard, age 69, of Conway, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the Ahoskie House, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
Mrs. Hoggard was born in Hertford County, NC, on July 3, 1952, a daughter of the late Page and Lynette Davis Futrell. Rose worked at Rollic Manufacturing, retiring after over 20 years, then started another twenty plus year career as a Pharmacy Tech for Colonial Pharmacy.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her camping buddies, Phyllis Blowe and Linda Bowen, and her dog companion of 18 years, Toby, who passed just a week ago..
Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 51 years, Eugene Hoggard, her son, Brian Hoggard and his fiance’ Amie Howell of Conway, NC; her daughter, Abby Greene and husband, Mike of Ahoskie, NC; three granddaughters, Kaydence Greene, Rylie Howell of Conway, NC, and Emma Jones of Ahoskie, NC; a grandson, Wade Greene of Ahoskie, NC; and her brother, Billy Futrell of Raleigh, NC;
The family wishes to thank Sandra and her staff at the Ahoskie House for the care that was given to Rose over the last seven months.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 31, 2022, from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro, NC, and other times at the home..
A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Ashley’s Grove Baptist Church, Conway, NC, with Rev. Mari Wiles and Rev. Julian Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Eugene, I didn’t know Rose was sick. I can remember little things about her and she was a special person. We always got caught up with family memories when I saw her in the drug store when I had to get things for my dad. My thoughts and prayers are with you
