Samuel Willis “Willie” Dunn age 64, of Scotland Neck, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 21, 2021, at his home in Scotland Neck.
He was born on October 3,1956 to John and Irene Dunn. Willie graduated from both Enfield Academy and Wayne Community College. Willie worked as a logger his entire life. He was especially proud to have the opportunity to work alongside his son for a number of years. Willie was a member of the Jr. Order. His hobbies included rabbit and coon hunting. Willie and Melissa spent eighteen years together getting married February 4, 2021. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.
He was preceded in death by mother, Irene Coggins Dunn and father, John Hinton Dunn, Jr.
Willie is survived by his wife Melissa of the home; son, Clark Dunn and his wife Hannah of Scotland Neck; stepdaughter, Morgan Spivey of Scotland Neck; three sisters, Angie Dunn Quigley and her husband Jack of Charlotte, Janie Dunn Viverette and her husband Doug of Wake Forest and Flo Dunn Bunting of Scotland Neck; brother, Robbie Dunn and his wife Tannis of Lynchburg, VA; two granddaughters, Harper Grace Dunn and Peyton Fleming Dunn. Also surviving is his loving dog Yoda Bear.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Scotland Neck with the Rev Robbie Dunn officiating.
