CONWAY, NC – Susan Cooke Joyner, age 57, passed away on March 21, 2019 at the Vidant Medical Center of Greenville, NC.
Mrs. Joyner was born in Ahoskie, Hertford County, NC, on June 19, 1961, a daughter of Cedric and Louise Vaughan Cooke. Susan was passionate about many things, but most of all was her work as an EMT with Northampton County Emergency Services. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. She was a kindhearted, caring person and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Besides her parents, Susan leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Charles “Chuck” Joyner; her daughter, Ashley Leneau Parker of Roanoke Rapids, NC; her son, Jarrett Parker and wife, Amy of Weldon, NC; her sister, Betsy Davis and husband, Phil of Conway, NC; two step daughters, Allison Joyner of Conway, NC, and Sarah West of Garysburg, NC; three granddaughters, Aliah Parker and Destiny Woodley of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Dottie Parker of Weldon, NC; and a grandson, Wade Parker of Weldon, NC.
A graveside celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at 2:00 pm at the Potecasi Baptist Church Cemetery, Woodland, NC, with Rev. Matthew Reider, officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Potecasi Baptist Church fellowship hall, and other times at the home of Susan’s sister, Betsy and Phil Davis in Conway.
