AHOSKIE, NC – Susan Matthews Barmer, age 51, of Morris Road, passed away on Tuesday January 5, 2021 at her home.
Susan was born on January 25, 1969 to William Ray Matthews and Brenda Nichols Baisey in Ahoskie, NC. She graduated from Ahoskie High School. She was a registered nurse that dedicated her life to taking care of others, especially her grandchildren. She cherished her time spent with them. Susan developed a talent at doing “Do It Yourself” projects.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Ray Matthews, and grandson, Jasper Ryan.
Susan is survived by her mother, Brenda Baisey; her daughter, Lauren Hope Barmer and fiance’ Eric of Aulander; her son, William Carol Barmer of Clemmons, NC; two grandsons, Dylan Barmer, and Austin Daughtrey; sister, Billie Gail Chumbley and husband Jerry of SC; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family whom she loved very much.

Hope was in my typing class in High school, we had many laughs together. I saw hope oneday in Wal-Mart after her Grandson went to be with jesus..I Was glad to get to speak with her.My heart so heavy to know of her passing. Sending my prayers to her Mom, and family .
