Suzanne Koehler Horrell

RICH SQUARE, NC-Suzanne Koehler Horrell, age 77, passed away on April 29, 2016 at the Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital of Ahoskie, NC.

Mrs. Horrell was born on July 23, 1938 to Bert and Elizabeth Marshall Koehler in Marshalltown, IA. Suzanne loved her family, and spent her life being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She enjoyed cooking, especially for the holidays. Suzanne could always settle down with a good book to read, and also liked her flowers. A special memory of her family was the annual wrapping party at Christmas, which was a special time for all.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Castell, Sr., and a son, Raymond Castell, Jr.

Suzanne is survived by five children; Debbie Castell, from FL, Tammy Lane and her husband Luther of Rich Square, NC, Cindy Strickland and her husband Terry of Everett, NC, Scott Castell and his wife Julie of FL, and Michelle Miller and her husband Luther of IL, three siblings; Marie Frimmle, Dick Koehler, and Carolyn Koehler, all of Iowa. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will have a private family gathering to celebrate the life of Mrs. Horrell.
