AHOSKIE, NC – Theresa Gail Davis Ambrose, age 75, of the Union township, passed away on July 10, 2019 at the Vidant Inpatient Hospice of Greenville, NC.

Mrs. Ambrose was born on December 13, 1943 to Harvey and Elsie Sumner Davis in Roanoke Rapids, NC. She was an active and dedicated member of Union Baptist Church for 40 plus years. Theresa loved to clean her house and was always making sure things were as clean as possible. She loved to cross stitch and color and was a member of the red hats society. She was a part owner with her husband of C and T Truck Repair in Ahoskie. One of her favorite past times was sitting on her front porch with her neighbors feeding the squirrels. Theresa was a loving and outgoing woman who was cherished by her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her partner in crime, her great-granddaughter, Harper. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Billy and Harvey Davis.

Left to cherish Theresa’s memory is her husband of 51 years, Cartlon “Zip” Ambrose; her daughter, Jo Anne Earley and husband Timothy; two brothers, George Davis and wife Elaine of Rich Square, NC, and Avery Davis of Pendleton, NC; her grandson, Matthew Earley of Ahoskie; and her great-granddaughter, Harper Earley of Ahoskie; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at 11:00 am at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Harold DeLong, officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 10:45 am prior to the service. A private family burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens.

My condolences to Mrs. Theresa’s family. She was a very kind ex co-worker (DRS) and one of my aunts (Marlene) nicest neighbors. I will miss riding by seeing her sit on the porch. May God continue to bless you all. My prayers are with you.

My memories of Mrs. Teresa was her smiling dear face on Sunday mornings at UBC. She will be missed. Regrettably did not get to know her close enough to know her or her family, but I know the God that she knows. I will pray that He comforts family and friends on those hard days without her physical presence. I will be joyful in knowing she knows Jesus Our Savior.

I’m going to miss Teresa sitting on her porch. My grandsons loved going across the road to see her. Going to my sons house will never be the same without seeing Teresa on her porch. Praying that God will give this family peace and comfort knowing Teresa is in the arms of her Lord.

Teresa was a great example of a godly woman. I met her when I went to Union Baptist some years back and had the pleasure of being in her company on several occasions during the time i attended Union Baptist. SHe always had a smile and she knew how to laugh in life which is rare these days. I am so sorry for the loss to her family but I know she left you all with wonderful memories and examples of a Christian woman.
