AHOSKIE, NC – Mr. Thomas Aaron Lewis, age 81, passed away on August 23, 2017.

Mr. Lewis was born on February 18, 1936 to George Aaron and Nannie Nichols Lewis in Hertford County, NC. He as married to Peggy Willoughby Lewis for fifty-seven years. Thomas spent his life tending the land as a farmer, enjoying his time outdoors. Thomas was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend that will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Cecil, JE, and Charles Lewis, and his brother-in-law, CJ Liverman.

Thomas is survived by his daughter, Celeste Baisey and husband BB of Winterville, NC; his granddaughter, Taylor Baisey of Winterville, NC; two sisters, Faye Liverman of Ahoskie, NC, and Ann Hunter and husband Don of Raleigh, NC; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 25, 2017, from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC. At other times, friends may visit at the home of Faye Liverman, Mr. Lewis’s sister.

A celebration of life graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 11:00 am at the Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, NC, with Phil Terry, officiating.

He was a very nice man and he was my oldest sisters brother in law and remember going to gatherings on numerous occasions it was always pleasant .
