Dearest Margaret and Tom,

I can’t even imagine how you both must feel. Losing Miles is surely like losing a chunk of your body and soul. He was such a bright and engaging young man. Although we only got to know him a little bit the weekend we visited Nags Head with the children, our whole family was so impressed with his outgoing, sparkling personality. The world is certainly a darker place without him in it.

But most of all we want you to know how much we love you both. We’ve grieved for you, and we’ve thought and thought about what we could do to make your burden lighter. We were planning to head to the Outer Banks this spring and we’re hoping we can catch you two for lunch or dinner to take your mind off your loss. But in the meantime, please know that you are now and will always be in our hearts and prayers.

Love,

Liz

To the Newbern Family and Friends of Thomas. Prayers and Christian love sent your way. In times like this, it is your Christian faith, the love of those around you and the memories of happier times that will bring you peace. Cry if you have to, laugh when you think of a joke or funny saying that Thomas would say, but most importantly be there for one another.

With deepest sympathy,

Geneva & LeAndre Squire
