TOMMY AND FAMILY, YOUR MOTHER WAS A WONDERFUL PERSON. I SENT HER A FEW CARDS WHILE IN NURSING HOME. I WORKED WITH MISS VELMA AT BERTIE COUNTY SOCIAL SERVICES IN 1978. SHE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED. MY MOTHER (MERLENE SLADE) PASSED NOVEMBER 18, 2009. SHE AND YOUR MOTHER WERE GOOD FRIENDS.
I WILL KEEP YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN MY PRAWERS.
Tommy, Many years have gone by but I hope you still remember me, maybe this will help, (i am turk & nick’s sister).
I remember Miss Velma like it was yesterday, she had the sweetest laugh, and could make you smile. I just wanted to tell you that she always left a wonderful impression on everyone she saw. There will always be a special place in my heart for Miss Velma.
Tommy, I am so sorry to here about Ms. Velma, she was such a sweet lady, always so kind and loving. I will always remember
the ink marks on her scalp after a long week of work, I used to tease about the marks and tell her I could tell had hard she had worked by the numbers of marks. I know you and your family will miss her.
Thinking of you,
Phyllis Forehand
