A native of Hertford County, Vicki was born on January 5, 1971 to Vernon Denton, Jr. and Linda Gayle White Moore in Ahoskie, NC. She was a loving wife, mother, GiGi, sister, and friend. Vicki was a graduate of Hertford County High School and received her teaching degree from Roanoke Chowan Community College. She loved her work as a teacher’s assistant at Bearfield Primary School. She was dedicated to the kids in the Hertford County school system and cherished her work family. Vicki enjoyed trips to the beach and was always intrigued with lighthouses. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her second father, Dan Byrum, and a granddaughter, Skylar Butler.

Vicki is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, James, her two daughters, Kristen Broglin Dilday (Patrick), and Kaitlyn Broglin Diego (Nicholas); three granddaughters, Aubree Farmer (her dad-Brandon Farmer), Madison Diego, and Maranda Diego; three grandsons, Ryan Diego, Owen Diego, and Henry Dilday; two sisters, Janice Gayle Askew; and Lori B. Cooke; two nieces, Alyssa Askew, and Tegan Broglin; a nephew, Ashton Broglin; along with her cherished Bearfield family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC, and other times at the home.

For fifteen years, we saw each other each week as we carried our girls to dance with Mrs M and Susan. Although our paths did not cross as often in the past few years, it was nice to see you when we did. Hugs and prayers for Kristin and Kaitlin; as well as James and the grandchildren. May God wrap his loving arms around them and comfort them in the days ahead. this is only bye for now!

To Vicki’s Family, Bearfield Family , and Friends,

It’s hard to say “See you later” to Vicki. She was a dear, gentle, caring soul. We shared many laughs in the halls of BPS throughout the years. I’d love to hear her say “I know that’s right! ” one more time. I watched her love and care for her children, grandchildren, students, and even my own son, as a Kindergarten student. Someone so dear deserved healing and THE LORD chose to HEAL her by carrying her HOME. No more pain to deal with just peaceful rest she so richly deserves. What more could we ask for with saddened hearts? Nothing except THE GRACE AND MERCY to join Vicki in Heaven when it’s our turn to go HOME.

Much LOVE and Many Prayers,

Teresa and Dalles Turner
