VIOLET D. MITCHELL
AULANDER – Violet Drew Mitchell, age 94, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at Ridgewood Manor in Washington, NC.
Mrs. Mitchell was born in Plymouth, NC, on February 25, 1915, the oldest child of the late Henry Dunstan and Mary Hoggard Drew. She was a longtime member of Aulander Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Besides her parents, and her husband, Bingham Burle Mitchell, Violet was predeceased by her younger siblings, Henry Dunstan Drew, Mary W. Wason, and Edward E. Drew. Left to cherish her memory is her daughters, Loretta Eichhorn of Greensboro and Rebecca Mann of Lillington; her son, Bingham Mitchell of Washington, NC; eight grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2010, at Aulander Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jerry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Aulander Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2010.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to Aulander Baptist Church, 109 Harmon St., Aulander, NC, 27805.

Rebecca and Loretta, we were so surprised when we went to visit mother and your mother was not there. It’s been said that God needs angels too and I am sure that she is already singing in the heavenly choir. May God bless you and your families in this time of sorrow.
