COLERAIN – Virginia Bozeman Coefield, age 93, of the 1300 block of Meadow Road, died Sunday, November 29, 2009, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville, NC.
Mrs. Coefield was born in Hertford County, NC, on August 7, 1916, a daughter of the late Charlie A. and Vera Minton Bozeman. She was a longtime member of Mars Hill Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school teacher, G.A. leader, and many other phases of work in the church. She was a walking testimony to her Christian faith, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory is her sons, Robert Coefield and wife, JoAnn of Columbia, SC, Winston Coefield and wife, Lindaof Elizabeth City, and Kirwan Coefield and wife, Sue of Colerain; two sisters, Mae Bozeman Early and Rachel Bozeman French; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Jessie Lee Coefield.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at Mars Hill Baptist Church, Colerain, on Thursday, December 3, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Burke Holland and Rev. Billy Presley officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and other times at the home.
