Virginia Cooke Pearce, 83, of Aulander, passed away on August 14, 2014 at the Creekside Care & Rehabilitation Center of Ahoskie.

She was born on April 5, 1931 to the late Claude and Vannie Blowe Cooke in St. John, NC. Virginia loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a past member of Union Baptist Church before moving her membership to Open Arms Church. She was dedicated to her church and was a very active member before her health declined.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas (JT) Pearce.

Virginia is survived by her , two sons, Michael Wayne Pearce and Phillip Kyle and his wife Jeanie Pearce all of Ahoskie; her daughter, Lisa Pearce and husband Mike Harrell of Colerain, NC; three granddaughters; Sharon Pearce Kelly of Murfreesboro, Crystal Jean Lewis of Aulander, Terri Lynn Lewis of Gates; two grandsons, Dylan Michael Harrell and Matthew Cole Harrell of Colerain, along with a brother, Cedric and his wife Louise Cooke of Potecasi.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 16, 2014 from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Ahoskie Chapel, Ahoskie, NC.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2014, at 2:00 pm at the Open Arms Church, Union, with Rev. Joe Lassiter officiating and burial to follow in Ahoskie Cemetery.
