Virginia Lynn Walston Shearin (“Jinny”) died peacefully on Thursday, September 16, 2021 after a brief bout with pancreatic cancer.
She was born to John Irwin Walston and wife Virginia Pope Walston on June 5, 1940. She married Jesse Shearin on March 31, 1961.
Jinny and Jesse were blessed with 3 children: Jesse III, James, and William (“Will”); 9 grandchildren; and 1 one great-grandchild. Jinny and Jesse both grew up in Scotland Neck and returned home in 1982.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Chapel of Letchworth-Sykes Funeral Service in Scotland Neck. A reception will immediately follow the service.

So sorry to find out about Jinny Lynn. Phyllis and always Cherished our visit with Aunt Mary and finding you and Jinny Lynn there also for lunch. I hitched a ride with Jinny a couple of times to Scotland Neck from East Carolina. God Bless you all.

Mrs.Shearin was my kindergarten teacher from 1984-85. She was an amazing teacher with a motherly touch❤️. She made sure that her students knew that she cared. My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.
Jenny is one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever worked with. She was able to keep procool under any circumstance in your law office. Jesse as you know she would have done anything in this world for you. I know your heart is happy. Sending prayers and love your way .
