PENDLETON, NC – Walter William Woodard, Jr., age 77, of 701 Willis Hare Road, Pendleton, NC, died on Monday, June 8, 2020 at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of Pendleton. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter William Woodard, Sr., and his mother, Irene Garris Woodard. He was a retired High School teacher, having taught for 30 years in the Virginia and North Carolina Public Schools. He was a graduate of Atlantic Christian (Barton) College; a member of Pendleton Masonic Lodge #418 Enfield Scottish Rites Bodies, associated with the Severn Mennonite Church in Severn, NC, and a former member of Roberts Chapel Baptist Church. He was appointed the Chief Judge (Registrar) for the Pendleton Precinct in 1970 having the longest service in this position for the Northampton County Board of Elections. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Walter is survived by his wife Mary Jones Woodard, a son, Sgt. 1st class Walter Aaron Woodard stationed at Camp Humphreys in Republic of Korea in the United States Army and his wife Shannon; two precious granddaughters; Hailey Nicole and Keira Ashlyn Woodard of Arnold, MD.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro, NC.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 18, 2020, at 2:00 pm at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Ahoskie Chapel, Ahoskie, NC, with Pastor Dale Miller speaking. Burial will follow in the Roberts Chapel Church Cemetery, Pendleton, NC.

I am so sorry,I thought so much of Mr. and Mrs. Woodard . They were Animal Lovers and would always call me when they saw one in trouble. Prayers with the Family.
