MURFREESBORO, NC – Wilburn Harris Laber, Sr. , known to all as “Willie”, age 76, formerly of Anna, Ohio passed away peacefully on Monday, January 2, 2023 at home.

Willie was an old school mechanic and factory worker. When he wasn’t busy, he enjoyed going fishing and watching westerns. He was a car man to his core. “A Chevy Man”. On any given day, Willie could be found under the hood of a car or tinkering in the garage. He loved playing euchre and calling suit by saying “everyone has a heart”. He was a free spirit who loved a good joke, but more importantly, he loved his family and friends and was always available for them. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

He was born on September 1, 1946 to Charles and Georgia (Bailey) Laber in Lawrence County, OH. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Joe and Junior Laber, a sister, Lillian Madden, and a grandchild, Michael Laber.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sonia “Susie” Laber; daughters, Jena (John) Brown Murfreesboro NC, Teresa Laber, and Sharon Spencer, both of  Ohio; sons, Gary (Kelly) Laber of Sidney OH, Wilburn “Squirt:” Laber, Jr., and Ora Laber, of Ohio; a brother, Carl (Lou) Laber of Ashland, KY;  grandchildren; Anthony, Keri, Krystal, Ashley(Debbie), Tiffany, Brittany, Kaylee(Greg), Micah(Sarah), Dyllan, Madilynn, Tyler (Philip) , Michael (Erin), Colton, and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family will have graveside service at Pine Grove Cemetery in Lawrence County, OH on Jan 14th at Noon.
