Don was Joy’s big brother, and as far as she was concerned, he could do no wrong. Barbara, Don will be missed by all of us that knew him, but we have the blessed assurance that this is not the end, rather it is a transition into a new life beyond. Joy has already welcomed Don, I know, and even after these nearly 24 years, she speaks to me in my dreams, often, and wishes me well. Thus it will also be with you. Give Julie a hug for me – you know that she was Joy’s first niece, and Joy really loved her.

I met Don when I worked in the Register of Deeds office and all of us there loved his stories. It was an honor to know him and to call him a friend.

Although I did not know William, I wanted to take a moment to extend my heartfelt sympathy for your loss. May you find comfort in the Bible’s promises at Revelation 21:4 and John 5:28,29. These scriptures mention a time when our loved ones will be resurrected and death and pain will be done away with. It is my wish you will find comfort and hope from these thoughts in the Bible.

Uncle Don, I’ll never watch another Western without imagining you watching it, too. Jacob and I will miss you so much. I KNOW, however, that you will be keeping your eye on all of us from your “perch” up in heaven.
