William Franklin McKinsey, age 91, of Scotland Neck, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 31, 2020.

Frank was born on May 12, 1928 to the late J.R. and Lucille McKinsey. He worked as a self-employed Upholster and was known for the Cracker Barrel rocking chair cushions.  Frank manufactured covers for Ossid and was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force.  He enjoyed fishing and was a tremendous Duke Basketball fan. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.  Frank took great pride in his family and loved helping his children and grandchildren with science projects.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ellen Campbell McKinsey; his daughter, Angie McKinsey Parker; his brothers, Pete McKinsey, Fred McKinsey, and Jack McKinsey.

Frank is survived by his daughter, Becky McKinsey Heclo and husband Monte of Scotland Neck, his sons, Steve McKinsey and wife Phyllis of Scotland Neck and J.R. McKinsey of Scotland Neck; two grandsons, Brad Stroud and wife Roxanne of Concord and Mark Stroud of Greenville; four granddaughters, Ashley McKinsey of Greenville, Summer McKinsey of Lake Worth, FL, Amber Keel of Red Oak, and Amanda Parker of Lake Royal; two great-granddaughters, Erin Stroud of Concord and Josey Stroud of Concord; and one great-grandson, Jacob Stroud of Greenville.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery in Scotland Neck, with Rev. Paul Spradley officiating.

I am so sorry for your loss of your Daddy and sister all at once. I know it seems hard to bear but I pray that God will give you the strength to get through this. We don’t understand why but one day we will know. My prayers are with you all and hold on to the memories and good times you all shared and it will help you get through this and keep them near.
