William Spencer Lovegrove age 67 of Roxobel, passed away on February 8, 2018.
He was born on December 16, 1950 to William and Dorothy Lovegrove of Rich Square, NC.
Spencer graduated from Northampton County High School and earned his Associates Degree from Chowan College in Political Science. Following Chowan, Spencer attended Barton College and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in History. He was married to Shirley Early in 1980 and to this marriage was born two children. Spencer worked as a Warehouse Manager for Roanoke Chowan Electric Co-op for over thirty years until retiring. He was a very active member of the Sandy Run Baptist Church, serving as a deacon, a youth leader, a Sunday school teacher and served many committees. He was a Mason. He was also a volunteer fireman for the Roxobel Fire Department. Spencer loved his church and his community often helping people in need. He had a great number of friends who will miss him tremendously.
Preceding Spencer in death, is his wife Shirley E. Lovegrove, his father, William Robert Lovegrove, Jr. and his niece, Hollie Johnson Wells.
Surviving is his daughter, Stephanie Lovegrove Marcos and husband Antonio of Greenville, NC; son, William Spencer Lovegrove, Jr. of Asheville, NC; his mother, Dorothy Felton Lovegrove of Conway, NC; three sisters, Phyllis L. Williams and her husband Joel of Holly Springs, NC, Nell L. Burgess and her husband Alton of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Sandra L. Johnson and her husband Woodie of Conway, NC; four grandchildren, Karina, Veronica, Angelica and Marco of Greenville, NC. Also surviving is one niece, Jenny B. Jones and her husband Jody of Roanoke Rapids; three nephews, Chris Johnson and his wife Jeanne of Pendleton, NC, Brad Williams of Holly Springs, NC and Mike Williams of Charleston, SC; two great nieces, Lauren and Mikaylie and two great nephews, Gavin and Fenton.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 3-5 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service of Rich Square, NC.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Sandy Run Baptist Church, Roxobel, NC, with the Rev. Dr. Dave Rimel officiating. Interment will follow at the Roxobel Kelford Cemetery.

I was so sorry to hear about Spencer.He was a very kind and sweet man. He never changed. He was always the same……smiling and speaking kind words.Heaven surely has a special Angel now…..We’ll miss seeing and talking to this kind man but God needed him.Praying for all his family.God loves you all and will comfort you with his love……Rest now Spencer till we meet again………..
