Wyomia Peede Willoughby, age 86, of Ahoskie, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at the Three Rivers Health and Rehab in Windsor.
Mrs. Willoughby was born on March 20, 1936 to the late Roger and Lillian Hoggard. She was devoted to her family and loved them greatly. Wyomia was affectionately known as “WY” and took great joy in helping others and loved spending time outdoors gardening and keeping her flowers. A kind and generous woman, she loved God deeply and was known for showing love to everyone. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Wyomia was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Austin Peede; her grandson, Scott Peede; her brother, Guy Hoggard; her niece, Phyllis Early; and her nephew Frank Peede.
Wyomia is survived by her husband, L M “Jake” Willoughby; her son, Mike Peede and wife Deborah of Boulder City, NV; her step-daughter, Sandra Williams and husband Kent of Powellsville; her sister, Vadis Daniel of Windsor; her grandsons, Brian Peede and wife Katie of Nevada and Clay Williams of Powellsville; her granddaughter, Megan Phelps and husband Justin of Ahoskie; her great-grandson, Jack Peede of Nevada; her great-granddaughters, Piper Peede of Nevada, Kinley Phelps of Ahoskie, Lexie Phelps of Ahoskie, and Hunter Phelps of Ahoskie; her nieces, Sue Daniel, Robin Byrum, Pat Perry, Connie Poland, and Sonya Chamblee; and her nephews, Tommy Hoggard, Steve Hoggard, Ronnie Peede.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service in Ahoskie.
A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Highland Memorial Gardens in Ahoskie, with Rev. Matt Miles officiating.

Wy was a sweet person once you got to know her. I worked with her at Freemanmetals for 15 years or more until she retired. I visited her at home a few times when she first got sick. She will be highly miss , I gave her a nickname , I called her Doe.

Wy was such a sweet lady and I always enjoyed seeing her at family events as she is grandmother to my daughter-in-law, Megan Phelps. She always made sure to speak and really showed her love to Jake and her entire family. I will miss seeing her in the future. Sending condolences to Jake, Sandra, her son and the entire family.
