Floyd was born and raised in Rich Square, North Carolina. He married his high school sweetheart, Wanda Wade in 1969 and moved to Conway, North Carolina.
Floyd retired from Georgia Pacific Chemicals in 2008. He started working with Garrett-Sykes and Letchworth-Sykes Funeral Service in 2017.
He and his wife have a daughter and a son and six beautiful grandchildren. Floyd enjoys spending time with his grandchildren and listening to beach music.
